Dr. Rick D. Bartlett, in partnership with Dr. Donna Wike, started practicing in Statesville at the Parlier Building on Stockton Street.

| 1982 - |
Dr. Bartlett purchased the Salisbury practice from Dr. Sid Spencer at Professional Center West on Statesville Blvd.

| 1983 - |
Our practice became affiliated with the organization known as Optometric Eye Care Center (OECC) in 1985 and was the only OECC office west of Greensboro. At that time OECC consisted of only a handful of offices centered around their corporate headquarters in Rocky Mount. Now we are the 13th largest optometric group in the country with 52 offices in North Carolina and 2 in South Carolina. We have since shortened our name and are called "Eye Care Center" now.

Dr. Bartlett opened his own practice in Statesville at Forest Heights Shopping Center at 851 N. Center Street as Optometric Eye Care Center.

| 1991 - |
Dr. Robert Grigsby graduated from optometry school in 1991 and came to work with Dr. Bartlett that same year.

| 1992 - |
Our Salisbury practice was relocated to the old Pic & Pay shoe store at 2141 Statesville Blvd. With over 5,000 sq feet this became our largest office in both size and volume.

| 1993 - |
Dr. Grisgby became a partner in the practice with Dr. Bartlett. It was during this year that they bought Dr. Scott Haire's practice on Lenoir Rhyne Blvd in Hickory. Dr. Grigsby's wife, Dr. Bonnie aiken, worked in that office for the first year.

| 1994 - |
Dr. Keith Boan graduated from optometry school and came to work at the Hickory office.
|
| 1996 - |
Dr. Boan became a partner in the practice.

| 1998 - |
With our growing practice and the need to expand, our Statesville office relocated two doors down to 843 N. Center Street and went from 1,400 sq ft to 4,000 sq ft of space. Our surfacing lens lab for all three practices moved from Salisbury to our Statesville office for a more centralized location.

| 1999 - |
Dr. Joe Sie was added full time to our team of doctors in Salisbury.

| 2001 - |
Sandy Greth began the role of administrator overseeing all 3 locations.
|
| 2005 - |
Our Hickory location moved into a new, state-of-the-art facility located at 1060 Lenoir Rhyne Blvd. In addition, this property has 3200 sq ft of leased office space available.

| 2007 - |
Dr. Raphael Weeks joined our group practicing in our Statesvile and Hickory locations.

2008 - |
Our Salisbury practice moved to its new free-standing building at 2120 Statesville Blvd ,offering state-of-the-art patient care in a modern, convenient, comfortable facility. The new office is located directly across the street from our previous location.

Dr. Jill Scullion joined our group practicing in our Salisbury and Statesville locations. Also, this year our Statesville office added another 1,000 sq ft of space with a new patient work-up area and administration office.

Many doctors have come and gone through our practices as interns or as a stepping stone to opening up their own offices. Two that have been insutrumental in the growth of our practices are Dr. Van Teague and Dr. Bonnie Aiken, who have gone on to successful careers. We were also privileged to have Dr. John Wagoner working with us in the past. He left to open a successful practice in Mooresville, but sadly passed away in May 2005. We thank them and the many others that have helped our practices to succeed.

In addition, our Office Manager and Assistant Administrator Gladys Dillon has been with our practices since February 1982, having previously worked for Dr. Spencer in Salisbury Since 1977. We greatly appreciate her dedication and service over the years
